Fundraising Consultant

Belgrade Community Library

job description

RFP Press Release/Announcement

For Immediate Release: August 30, 2017

The Belgrade Community Library Foundation is actively seeking a Fundraising Consultant to develop and execute a capital campaign for the Library’s impending building expansion. The Foundation’s sole support entity is the Belgrade Community Library, and within that role has a commitment to raising additional funds for the Library’s expressed purposes and needs.

Belgrade Community Library has experienced a 127% growth in program attendance over the last five years, and in a community of only 8,254 people, has issued library cards to nearly 7,000 residents. Due to the rapid and explosive growth, the Library has simply run out of space to adequately keep pace with the increased community population and usage.

To sustain the unprecedented growth of the Library’s cardholders and to serve the needs of the roughly 1,000 daily visitors, the Library will be expanding its facility. To date, adjacent expansion property has been purchased, Montana State University’s Community Design Center has created a model and renderings of the expansion, and a generous family gift has helped to kick-start the capital campaign.

The next step is hiring a fundraising professional to assist the Foundation Board with the necessary fundraising campaign. Charitable donations will reshape the Library and its commitment to the Belgrade community.

The Belgrade Community Library Foundation will conduct a thorough and transparent process in choosing a Fundraising Consultant. The Capital Campaign Committee will:

• Review all proposals based on the stated criteria found here

• Conduct selected in-person interviews, allowing for Q&A time

• Recommend finalist(s) to the full Foundation Board and select Library staff

• The Foundation Board will make the final selection and give approval for the chosen consultant

For more information, please contact Karen Rickert, Capital Campaign Committee Chair, 651-925-6317 or or Gale Bacon, Library Director, 406-388-3436 or If interested, please submit a written proposal, no more than two pages, to postmarked or emailed no later than September 22.
